I agree about the locks on the river. You can adjust the water level using the settings, after all, this is at least some opportunity to implement the locking of ships.
I am a fan of this simulator, I agree that indeed, there is nothing like this in the world yet. But it really lacks landscapes. Indeed, unfortunately, there is no common storage and add-ons are scattered across the Internet, which, unfortunately, are not always possible to find.
My idea at first was like this. To recreate the ports of countries, for example, starting from some country in the Baltic Sea and around Europe along the coast, through Turkey to Africa, going around it and going further along the continent, until I return to the starting point again. Colossal work, but there would be a lot of ports. But I would have to create separate maps for each port, whether this is reasonable or not, I do not know.
But then I still wanted to implement some section of the river, starting from its mouth in the sea, where there is a seaport and moving upstream. Still, it would be an interesting experience of river navigation, when the landscape outside the window is constantly changing and you need to control the movement of the vessel.
But my main idea is to build the environment as realistically as possible. 3D models of objects should not be detailed, but at least in a simplified version, and similar to real ones, using various sources from the Internet, such as photographs and street panoramas.
It would be great to ride in this simulator to places that would be close to reality, even if you have never been there, it will be like a virtual excursion.
I looked a little on the map for rivers that could be recreated. And so far my choice fell on the Seine. Starting from the seaport in the city of Le Garve and continuing at least to the city of Rouen. Judging by the information from the Internet, sea vessels also go to this city.
If there are any other ideas on this matter, I am ready to listen.
