Searching the right way for exporting (Sketchup to VS)...

Postby schmitty » Sat Feb 23, 2013 5:07 pm

Hello,

i have two models witch i have to convert to VS for testing.
They are moddeled in Google Sketchup 8.

I converted a lot of models in the past, but i`am looking for the right method, until know.

In the past i used the 3DRad-Exporter-PlugIn for Google Skecthup. But it do not convert the textures correctly.
For Example, please have a look at my King Seaways:

The withe of the name and the logo is not "white" in VS.

The texture-files in the boat-folder looks correctly.

Has anybody a idea how to fixed that?

Please tell me your way to get a Sketchup-Model to VS...

Regards
Christian

Hello,

i think you are using Deep Exploration 6.5, right. Have you the trial?

Is it easy to import a skp-file?

I have no Sketchup Pro,so i have to use the skp-file because the free-version of Sketchup has no export-function to 3ds... :-(

hi, Cristian,
import files in Deep Exploration is very easy.To export them in .x file is a little hard, you must change the exporting settings so that the x file non become big in MB
but you must buy it, because the days of trial version are not enough to learn it

Hello together,

i only want to say, that i have no solution for my problem, yet.

1.) I found no free-version of Deep Exploration which is working under Windows 8.
2.) If i used 3d-Rad-Exporter, i get the texturproblem (look at my first post).

It is very frustrating to have two completed models but no way to export them... :(

Here a example of the problem:

I don't know, i don't use 3d-rad-exporter. But if your problem -as shown the images- is only for the text, i suggest to try made them directly as text in the boat face and not as textures

Hello,

i get a new version of SAP VIrtual Enterprise (Deep Exploration) and it works!
I have only 30 days to get my ships into the water (trial-version), i hope, that this is enough!

In order for the 30 Day Trial not to run out just switch the date to the day your trial started on your Computer
