I was on sscanberra.com and was looking at the diagrams section and came across these (the first of which you're familiar with)

These'll be helpful in helping me make your propellors. I should be able to get them done shortly!
I wish I could find such an abundance or info the Oriana.

I think you gotta work on the curve just a little bit more. Here's what I mean. I think it needs to be more, well, curvy! :P

For textures, you mean that thing that Axe etc do, baking their textures with shadows on the textures? I can't even do that, so I manually add shadows on my textures (if you've played with my Viking Longship in VSF and looked at the texture files, you'll see what I mean).
Good luck with your textures! I tend to find them quite fun. I made all the textures for my Longship from scratch! You can find tutorials and stuff all over the internet (unless you're like me and prefer to learn by trial and error (for some things) even if it takes longer!)

Btw, nice video! I like the 'homemade' effect with the camera moving around - I think that looks really cool, The music adds some great atmosphere. Cue Captain Ahab... "The white whale!"

Andrew,
As a merchant ship, she would wear the Red Ensign. Although resuisitioned ( STUFT) Ship taken Up from trade, she was still under the command of her civilian captain and therefore not entitled to wear the Blue. He received the CBE from the Queen for his troubles.

Finished your propeller today! About 10 minutes ago, actually.

You'll need to mirror the prop for the port side, and have them spin in opposite directions in VS (which is possible) for them to behave as they should. Though, I'm not sure if the starboard should spin clockwise or anti-clockwise :P But whichever way the starboard/port prop spins, the other spins in the opposite direction.

Amazing! Thank You Sam! How do you make the propeller spin the opposite way?

You have to export them each in positions like this, but of course at 0,0,0 (x,y,z coords) and then you edit a parameter in the boat.cfg that'll rotate the propeller to face the proper way, thus making it spin the other direction. I'll have to check which it is.

Victor, thank you for the info about the Red Ensign. But here is something i could never figure out. Although Canberra did wear the Red Ensign and all merchant ships have to fly the Red Ensign, why did the Titanic only fly the Blue Ensign when she set out on her maiden voyage? Olympic and Britannic flew the Blue Ensign too. Why is that?

The only reason I can think of is that their captains were either Retired Navy officers or officers of the Naval Reserves. The bow looks better.

Yea that is right. I did some research on it and turns out that 12 of Titanic's officers were members of the Royal Navy Reserve, and therefore was eligible to wear the Blue Ensign, by warrant of the Admiralty. But thank you for the info Victor. Wait till Sam sees what i have done to the ship now. I think he is going to be pleased. Last night, i managed to rebuild the bow and stern nearest the waterline and i smoothed out and added the ships propellers and gave them a brass texture and they look pretty dern good!

Not only that but your propellers have been smoothed out and installed and textured! :D

Notice here how i re shaped the stern like you were telling me Sam.

The texture makes the props look like they originally did on the Canberra :D Sam you really did an excellent job with these propellers!
