SS Normandie

SS Normandie

Postby Thushan@96 » Thu Oct 04, 2012 6:30 pm

I started working on a SS Normandie model last year and now, Its nearly 75% complete. There are some minor adjustments to be made (to the funnels and the sideways droop of the fore deck, which is too deep) and other details such as thr rig of the masts and ropes in lifeboat davits. Hope you like it,as there isn,t a good model of the Normandie available at the moment (no to my knowledge anyway)

Here are some pictures of the complete hull.

This took a great deal of work to model (because I read in a book that the Normandie's hull was completely curved at the waterline to improve hydrodynamic efficiency)

Thanks guys,I really appreciate your comments. Can any of you tell me whether the Normandie had a sheer line? because I couldn't see it in any of the pictures.

I'd love to. Thanks. Would you e-mail me a copy? And I,m glad the Normandie actually dosen't have a sheer line. I would have had a headache trying to model her all over again ;)

WOW! The Normandie is looking great! Are you going to add the rigging to the ship.

Very nice work!

Should be good to see how this model compares to the current Normandie :)
