WIP- S.S. Queen Anne V2

Well, i think it is time for me to roll out a new WIP.

Recognize this ole gal?

Well, for those who dont, this is an old liner i made back in 2009 (with the generous donation of the hull from Capt. Henderson), the S.S. Queen Anne, a fictious trans-atlantic liner built in 1926 for the American Atlantic Steamship Company. Being 879 feet long, 91 feet wide, and weighing 44,000 tons, she was the largest ship built at the time for the AAL. I do believe she was withou a doubt, my most recognized ship, and most beloved. She served (along with CaptainWill's Patriotic) a purpose of reviving trans-atlantic travel during the Great Depression. During the war, she was converted into a troopship and was ran throughout the Pacific. She came home in 1947 for a 2 year post war refit that included the removal of her original 3 funnels and replacement with 2 thicker ones (like the Ile de France)

She served the Atlantic Line until 1969 when the company collapse and s and her sister, the Isabella were sold off to pay remaining debts. The Queen Anne became a cruise ship in 1973 for Azula Cruise Line and was extensively refitted. The ship underwent another massive refit 3 years later with a redesigned bow and masts after a serious collision that damaged her original bow.

In 1980, she became Blue Regalness for the Blue Sea Shipping Line. The Regalness was again, extensively refitted and for 20 more years, sailed throughout the Caribbean. When SOLAS 2000 finally caught up with her, she was pulled from service and laid up at Gibraltar, where it was rumored she would be extensively gutted and refitted as a cruise ship/hotel or casino, or even a prison ship. She was sold to Venture Cruises in 2001 and was renamed Ventura. A refit was started but not completed. The plans fell through and the ship was finally sold for scrap in October, 2003. After an attempt to steam to the breakers at Alang which failed when a boiler exploded, the ship, then renamed "VenTura" was towed to Alang and broken up by the next year.

I have decided to finally give this great ship a remake to, with the sucess of the Lorraine V2.

As with before, i took the old ship out to see what could be done differently. The Poly count was good, but the ship lacked alot of detail. The boats and davits were low poly (and almost out of date for a 1920's ocean liner, which most had begun to use the gravity style davits, versus the old Wellin style davits.) The bridge also lacked some details (such as instruments.)
I also noticed the panel did not work with the ship in VS. That has already been fixed.
My original plan was to strip the original hull back down to the basic line and build it back up. Had I not lost the flash drive the original file was on, i would have went through with this plan.

So instead, i decided to build a hull from scratch. Yes, from scratch. It took me a while to figure it out with the stern, but he rest of the ship's hull (with the exception of the "bulb" at the bottom of the stern as this was reused from another WIP.) was made by me.

and before i knew it, i had this.

The new profile for the Queen Anne looks stunningly close to the Ile de France. I dont really know why i made her look so close to the Ile, but it has really made the ship look already 10x better than the V1 look.
This picture is really old, but the lines are still the same. I have already designed lifeboats and davits (currently installed) and i have also started texturing the hull. I am going to incoroprate lights in this version for VS as well as a VSF version to be completed later. I have also made alot of rigging for the ship. Not to mention 4 new props (courtesy of Nemo) and brand new funnels.

Well, im going to leave it at this. There will be more to follow soon.
-Andrew

I also plan to include flags as a sail feature.
Were you in the boat when the boat tipped over?
No, silly. I was in the water!

Wow! I've been waiting for along time to see a new WIP from you Andrew, and this is well worth the wait! :D
One question. Is the Patriotic available for download?( I remember seeing her WIP a couple of years ago but I haven't been able to find her or any of her fleet mates for download)

Hard to believe its been 8 months since i last posted an update. I think its time i updated for you guys since i now have the free time to do so. Alot has changed to the ship in the last 8 months. Alot has been redone and alot has been redesigned and re explored. I have begun EXTENSIVE texturing of the ship to give her a more realistic look to her as i have even removed alot of things that just did not fit her. Never again will i do 3D railings ever again in my life! But i have a few new screenshots for you guys:

New funnel texture, stays, lifeboats, and davits have been painted and inserted aboard the Queen Anne.

I still have alot to update you guys about but i have to finish osme other things before the next update but this ship is still alive and going strong. My others, including the Canberra are to follow soon. The Canberra will need some extensive work done to her. Haha!

Oh and before i go, here is an in game pic, along with her rivals, Heysham, and Republic.
