RMS Oceanic (1899)

Working on something cool? This is where you can tell everyone about it.

After seeing Andrew's Davit and "Surprise", I decided my model was of a particularly low standard. I decided to rebuild EVERYTHING from the keel to the masts. It all started with the deletion of all but the good parts of the model:

You've made quite a good start! As you're starting again to make her better, I'm sure she'll be very nice! Make sure you don't forget textures though, they're just as important as the model! :)

The new hull, 5,749 polys alone.

Does anyone have any photos of Oceanic's forecastle deck? or blueprints showing the placement of cranes and deck equipment?

There was a rather fantastic model that was located in the London Science Museum, as far as I'm aware. I've found quite a few good photos in my travels around the internet. Those would probably be your best bet.

Andrew has been kind enough to help me with the hull, so while he is doing that, I thought I would whip out something I wanted to do for a while: Oceanic's Triple tone steam whistle!

The whistles now have a home atop a funnel!
