Hmm, you could try adjusting the "body_cd" in the vehicle.cfg I think... I will keep improving the model in Blender :)

Beta 1.4 (August 11, 2017)

Postby saken » Sat Aug 12, 2017 6:49 am

Dear all,

I was going to post this yesterday, but OneDrive had a few quirks (hopefully that's solved by now, maybe a bug that Microsoft fixed).

Anyways, here's beta 1.4. The anchors have been enlarged quite a bit (after some research, they were at LEAST 5 meters, or 16 feet high!

Update! (August 27, 2017)

Postby saken » Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:58 am

Just a small update on the superstructure, which is now separated from the bridge and wings. New windows are added at the front of the superstructure.

and in Virtual Sailor... for testing. In the Port of Gothenburg.

Hi Saken

Great job on my favorite tanker! I am working on a Kharg Island (Arabian Gulf) scenery and Antifer (North Coast of France) both were capable deep draft ports to take this ship.
Making scenery in VSF is hard but I am getting to it.

I was actually thinking to myself "Man... am I really modeling this ship in Blender?" because the price doesn't always make the best software. In the 3D industry, this might just be the case.

3ds Max (What I used between 2006-2015) was certainly powerful, yet complex. It also suffered slow start-up times.

Blender on the other hand, starts up in a few seconds! And it is also lightning fast! Very easy to work with, in my opinion. 8-)

A small update... November 1, 2017

Postby saken » Wed Nov 01, 2017 2:05 am

Dear community,
The progress is kind of slow at the moment... but more catwalks and side walkways have been added. Also the side walkways to the liferafts and the liferafts themselves are added... just in case of an emergency, where I would have to give the order to my crew to abandon ship... although I would have an extremely hard time leaving the bridge in case of an emergency... I just couldn't.

Hi Saken

Following your progress.
Need to get the lifeboat deck to the extreme width of the ship. The DAVITS holding the lifeboats also need to be OUTBOARD so they lower and deliver the lifeboats into the sea.

I can really help you on this project.

Hey Peter!

Yes, I felt something was not right when I looked at Sellu's model, and did the same with the liferafts. I do not have a plan of her from the front or rear view, only from the side and above.

EDIT: Although the davits may be extendable to outside of the ship? I have no idea about this particular topic.

Postby saken » Mon Nov 06, 2017 7:55 pm

It was only a matter of time, but I finally switched to Cycles Render in Blender, instead of Blender Render.
