Aloha AXE.
Just wonderfully modeled as usual.
I am thrilled that you are still adding to our list of ships.

Just amazing.

Thanks.

Last I heard, Axe was living aboard his sailboat and seeking a larger liveaboard...so this is apt to put the brakes on his modeling for awhile. Perhaps I've been a bad influence, telling him about my days as a sailboat liveaboard! ;)

So first Update since her resurrection, Since this project was over a year old I noticed that I got overwhelmed with the amount of unnecessary detail that was added, So ive had to start from scratch, at least all the drawings are in place etc.

Beautiful work, Axe. I sincerely hope, now that Ilan is back, he's taking note of models like this (and Sharpy's magnificent multi-masted schooners and yachts) that desperately need much more control over the individual sails - on each mast - in different weather conditions, instead of the current unrealistic and visually ugly system.
I was on the point of completely giving up on VSF until a few months ago when Sharpy upgraded some of his VS7 models for VSF. Sailing them, and loving every minute of it, made me hang on for a bit and gave me hope that VSF wasn't quite dead. Now the news that Ilan has returned and wishes to develop this sim further - plus your new models, Axe - gives me further hope that VSF may just become the first-class maritime simulator it always could have been.
We''ll see.

Like all of us old salts, I quite agree! I've often asked Ilan for individual sail controls...or at the very least, an additional sail category for square sails which generally furl up to the yard. They do NOT come down the mast like venetian blinds!!! But of course we should be able to set/reef/furl individually as done in reality. BTW, sailed 4 summers in 295' barque Eagle...4 Atlantic crossings. 22 individually controlled sails. Now there are 23 (split spanker).

So what did he say about it? By the way, Sailorjohn, how I envy you having that kind of experience to recall, mate.

Hi BF. I resubmitted the individual sail request, among others, just last month when Ilan returned to VSF. He indicated he'd consider it for later on, but was more focused on general sim upgrades for now. Fingers crossed.
