Version 1.3 is available - we have sails !

Dear All,

This is one update you would like to see, now we have sails.

Changes In this update :

* Animated pilots using frame animation added.
* Sail control added using sail instruments.
* Additional sailboat panel added.
* Sails and sailboats added.
* Bow wave position fixed.
* Waypoint markers fixed.
* Attach props for boats enables thrust vectoring.
* Unguided torpedo option added.
* Guided bomb option added to weapons.
* Element orientation editing fixed.

Note:

Sailboats you have imported before need to be re imported - to do so delete the vehicle.cfg for them
and let the program write it again.

Animated pilots VS style added again.

Sail reefing is done using Insent/Delete and Shift + Insert/Delete
Sail control is done when auto sail is off, dragging the sail instruments on the onscreen panel or on the boat panel.
Shift + S toggles auto sail.
New keys appear inside the keys screen, press K to show.
Auto pilot will avoid sailing into the wind when the boat has sails, auto sail is on and engine is off.
Pressing P will show sail panel for sailboats and boat panel for other boats.
Spinnaker will be activated by auto sail when sailing downwind - no key for this at this time.
Sails cannot be dragged at this time.
Winches cannot be dragged but they show sail movement.

Ilan, I never knew which program to use to convert VS boats to VSF?

Don't have such?

Hi Ron,

This is simple, just copy the boat from VS or the plane from MF into the vehicles directory,
or install the add-on normally, VSF will import them automatically, and even move boats from
any boat directory created or aircraft directory created inside the vehicles directory.

The new thing in VSF is that you can have a boat with all its instruments and panels and weapons inside,
for example create inside the directory of that boat directory called panels, instruments, weapons, and put
inside them the ones specific to this boat.

Aahhh, never realized that you could just place a VS boat in VSF?
That's a neat feature to have all the boat "particulars" contained in the boat folder, nice and tidy.

My favorite lady (Suzanne, fishing using the furled sail function), I'm going to try next.

On the depth, I must say I achieved 100%, everything is as I wanted it to be? I said I'd try on the Ire_SW scenery that I had in VS? It worked out fine, I'm chuffed. Just have to remember to edit the scenery.hdr file for VSF to produce the depth.
Unfortunately the whole lot (Ire_SW) is in high resolution (10 meters), 150MB+

With a bit of time I'd say I could host a 30 meters (STRM) version of same. Watch this space so,

Dear Sam,

Make sure the boat doesnt have "has_deck" in its configuratin file,
when an aircraft carrier "has_deck" it can carry other vehicles, but doesnt hide water
in cockpit.

Also water is hidden when you are in cockpit, when viewd from chase it is not.

It is great to have sails again it makes for some interesting situations
