VSF Version 2.6.4

Postby Duane » Sat Dec 31, 2016 4:58 am

Hi Ilan,

I've been testing your latest update this evening and love it!

Your VSF program is now also a quad-copter simulator -- and for those who are now exploring this new hobby sport, the option of flight training
using VSF is a great affordable choice.

I personally own two quads and my brother has two DJI Phantoms, so I know how they work. One real trick in flying one -- or any RC aircraft, is to
realize that the steering is reverse when comming at you. Your VSF simulation program can help RC pilots better understand how to steer these
sometimes expensive aircraft and perhaps save thier vehicle investment from crashing.

With all the many computer simulation programs out there that simulate remarkable virtual worlds, your Vehicle Simulator Framework program should
be known by more virtual pilots and aviation enthusiast -- not to mention aeronautical engineers.

What started out as a computer hang-glider simulator over fifteen years ago, then became a nautical and aviation testing environment program, has
now become a remarkable vehicle simulator experience that makes CAD computing fun.

Keep up the great work Ilan -- and if the players of the 90 Billion dollar VR world of 2016 ever discover all the capabilities of your VSF program,
perhaps it will be accepted as one of the greatest forms of entertainment in computer history.

Hi Duane,

You are right, Ilan did an excellent work with VSF since years and the v264 is now, as you said, a good training RC simulator program.. as we say for the reversed models coming at you : always stick to side of the lower wing ! the only problem is that after playing with the virtual Phantom on VSF, I now want to buy a real one.. :)

There is another very interesting feature in v264, may be less evident to find : the possibility to land vehicle on any vehicle at any alt (it was just cars and boats before at low alt).. So we can now have aerial carriers for a lot of fun landing in the air with planes, helicopters or quadrocopters ! here is one with the Aerolight 103 :

Just a silly question perhaps, but is this airship available anywhere?

of course, this is an adaptation for VSF.. still WIP with support by Ilan for the elements.

I cant say I'm very excited about version 2.6.4 . I have download and installed it and now VSF wont start up anymore. Cant say I've installed it wrong, It installs it self.
I hope there's an answer for it.

Dear Pijlmans,

Please do the following to re start your VSF :

1. Check if your installed update path is the same as full program path, for example check if you have
installed into c:\Vehicle Simulator or into Program Files, check that the whole program is there.

I recommend NOT to install to program files, but to C:\Vehicle Simulator because Microsoft invented the "virtual store"
which is essentially a ghost file system redirecting your files to users\appdata folder...

2. If all files are there, delete the vsf.ini and start the program again, see if that works.

3. If not working, please locate the logfile.txt inside the program directory and email it to me.

Thanks,

Ilan
Thank you,

Alright, I'm Back.
My knowledge about computers and games is not as advanced as most of you I'm afraid. so I reinstalled the whole thing.
It works now but not to my satisfaction.

as you can see the clouds look very odd.
The same goes for the bow splash.
I have been working on the settings but I just cant get it right.
I'm sure there is a solution for this.
Also with some scenery's the program wont start.

By the way Murdoch, I just love the love boat.

The 2.6.4 version does not run on Win32 system.

Has VSF become 64-bit application only?
