VSf Framework error

Postby gunwharf » Wed Jun 15, 2016 12:32 am

VSF keeps crashing with a message that says framework error. This keeps happening in areas of high scenery density although seems noticeable worse after upgrading to V 2.6.3

after the crash the log file shows the following. I'm assuming its the D3DERR_INVALIDCALL mesh.cpp line 397 which is the problem. Any ideas what may be causing it?

Adapter is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950

Texture memory = 3999 MB

Max texture size = 16384

Max volume size = 2048

Max textures = 8

Max stages = 8

Max clip planes = 8

Max active lights = 8

Vertex Shader Version = 30

Pixel Shader Version = 30

Adapter Can do A8R8G8B8

Adapter Can do V8U8

Adapter Can do VertexFog

Adapter Can do TableFog

Adapter Can do BumpMaps

Adapter Can do Shaders

Adapter Can do VolumeTex

Adapter Can do ShadowVolume

Adapter Can do 32BitIndexBuffers

Dear Gunwarf,

This problem could be related to the change made in version 2.6.3 as it is using more video memory for creating objects now, this is required for the new bump maps that can be seen on objects.

However, you can try to reduce object visibility, or object density, on options->land dialog.
these affect the number of visible objects and so the amount of video memory.

For example i do not recommend going over these settings:

object visibility 10,000 m
object density 50%
object complexity 50%
Thank you,

Dear Kevin,

I have received your email for support, and i would like to help.
please tell me on which ships does this happen, if the size of the boat.x or vehicle.x is too large this problem can occur.
I recommend using ships which are not too heavy so the program can work properly.

Also it may help to try with the option "simple mesh" in vehicle options, try with this option checked or unchecked and see if you get it working.
Thank you,
