VSNG Keyboard Controls not saving

Post by scottfulky »

Hello! I recently purchased VSNG and set custom keyboard settings instead of the regular default settings. I saved the keys and loaded my profile. All of the keys appeared in the keyboard menu as they should yet every time I load into the sim none of my settings work. I always have to revert to the default settings to do anything. This is very irritating and I'm considering requesting a refund through Steam. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm very (very) late to this topic, but fairly new to the game so please forgive me. However, I've had similar issues. I bought a little add-on keypad that has 2 rotating knobs that I wanted to use as azipod controllers. I set the keys up and all was good but struggled to get the keys to save. I think what was happening is that not all of my key values were unique and I guess when that causes a conflict, the custom controls won't save. I seem to have fixed this after carefully going through all the keys and ensuring there are no duplicates.

Hi !
Yes, it doesn't save the keyboard settings [if you open the *.cfg files in the game directory, the keyboard part is always the same]. On the other hand, the simulator does save (somewhere, but not under the defaults file, which doesn't even exist originally) the keyboard configuration from one session to the next, whether it's a resuming of the previous session, a new one, or a saved situation. So for a unique custom configuration there's no problem, there's nothing to save, just set it up. On the other hand, you can save different joystick and button configurations and load them as required without affecting the keyboard configuration (depending on the type of vehicle you're going to drive for example).
Cheers!
