Hi sailors. I have made some tests sceneries for VSNG, but I want to know alternatives to 3DEM to process and export to Virtual Silor terrain on high resolution on LIDAR format. Anyone has experience on this?

Re: Lidar to VS NG?
I think it should work as long as you can transform it to a Terrain Matrix file (.bin/.txt), you can also use GeoTif etc.
The problem with high resolution matrix is that the files get really big very quickly (exponentially) and it will impact the performance of the game. If you choose a small scenery-area it might work. Give it a try.
I usually use 1arc.sec. resolution geodata and that works very well for the most part, higher resolution and I see the landscape constantly reloading on a short distance.

Thank you Northfeeder. You are right. For now is not a good idea. Maybe in a future with new capabilities of the VS engine we can do it!
