Hi Everyone,

I have released today version 8.8 of Virtual Sailor NG, in this version the following updated were made:
  • Bow and stern thruster power set as in VSF.
  • Radar ranges made according to convention.
  • Zoom button removed from radar.
  • Radar circles can be hidden.
  • Radar image does not fade.
  • Additional objects rendered in radar.
  • Added weapon lights.
  • Added explosion lights.
  • Moving vehicle to another point disconnect its docks.
  • Added weapons dialog, also to keys and to telescope.
  • Tug lines rendered as ropes not chains.
  • Fixed bug of time goes too fast.
  • Moved the front docking points to rear.
  • Default panel made slightly transparent.
  • Added rpm_rel, rpm1_rel, rpm2_rel instruments.
  • Fixed bug with saving local panel.
  • Anchors and moorings can be moved and placed on docks and water.
The main changes are the RADAR look and behavior, and the docking pick and move of ropes.
I would like to thank all the users who made excellent ideas and helped me make them,
special thanks to Makis Stefanatos and to Luca Vinelli this time.

I hope you like this new update.

Thanks,

Ilan

The list of fixes is impressive. Some of the older users will remember a lot of these fixes were requested a long time ago .
I have a problem that I can't understand other than Norton does not like downloads from hangsim.com. I just cannot download VSNG 8.8 this must be fairly recently as I have all the previous updates.
I don't think it is my setup as the PC is less than a month old with AMD Rysen 5 processor and a fibre network running Windows 11.
Has anyone else experience such problems ? I would be most interested in hearing how you solved it.

Many thanks

Victor

EDIT: Problem solved - switched browser. now to do some testing ! ! !
